CHRISTIAN YOUTH 'CONFERENCE

MEETING AT BLENHEIM NEXT MONTH

A New Zealand conference of Christian Youth, on the lines of the world conference held last year in Dslo, will be held at Blenheim from August 23 to August 31. The conference, which is being organised by the Youth Committee of the National Council of Churches in New Zealand, will synchronise with the meeting of the World Council of Churches, which is to be held at Amsterdam. The chairman will be the Rev. John T. Holland, of Christchurch.

It is probable that the official opening will be broadcast and filmed. The theme of the conference will be a survey of the place of the Christian congregation in the community. An address will be given each morning. This will be followed by an afternoon of community recreation, and an evening given to an open forum discussion on the morning’s topic. A distinctive feature of the gathering will be the discussion of the World Church’s relief measures in Europe and Asia, and the planning of a dominion-wide assistance in this.
