DEFENCE MEASURES IN PRAGUE
PROVISION OF BLACKOUT MATERIAL PRAGUE, July 19. Czechoslovak official sources, commenting on the Government’s request for estimates of black-out material needed for business houses, factories, shops, and schools, said it was only “a routine step within the general defence programme.” They added that the Government needed the estimates so that production could be provided for in the fiveyear plan now drawn up. The Vice-Premier (Mr Fierlinger), speaking at Tabor, said: “There will be no war because Western capitalism would not dare to attack a powerful camp of peace. A new war would be suicide for capitalism.”
