SIX CARS AND BUS IN CRASH
TWO PERSONS BADLY INJURED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 18. A spectacular accident, in which two persons were badly hurt and many others received minor cuts and bruises, occurred in a stream of traffic returning to Wellington after the Trentham races on Saturday. Just south of the Heretaunga Post Office six cars and a bus crashed, one into the rear of the other. The bus was at the tail of the string, and the two persons most seriously injured were passengers in the car immediately in front of it. They were Alexander White, of Standen street, Karori, a steward, who suffered head and spine injuries, and Mrs Helen White, of the same address, who received head injuries. Both were taken to the Wellington Hospital, where their condition was said to be satisfactory. The bus was crowded, and the sudden stop threw the passengers forward violently.
