I. HERBERT’S SOUTHLAND TEAM The Wyndham trotting trainer, H. I. Herbert, has purchased a property at Waimate and he will transfer his team to that centre at the end of the month. Herbert’s departure will be a loss to the trotting sport in Southland as he was one of the younger trainers who has made a success of his following. Herbert has made plans to take horses with him and others from Southland will join the team later in the year. The team includes Dragoman, lona Hall, Hall Ace, Mischievous, Princess Doreen, Blackenu, Regal Gem, Linden, a rising two-year-old Red Shadow —Misfire filly, and a rising four-year-old sister to Dragoman.
