FORESTRY VILLAGE
BEGINNING MADE AT BALMORAL The contractor had begun building six houses for the accommodation of married staff and key workers at the Balmoral State Forest, said the ActingConservator of State Forests (Mr W. H. Jolliffe) yesterday afternoon. “This is the second step in the formation of a forestry village at Balmoral.” he said. “The first step was the erection of a mess block and single men’s quarters. Every endeavour is being made to retain the old sod house —once used for an hotel—as an historical landmark.”
