RIGHT HAND TRAFFIC RULE

EFFECT OF DECISION IN ENGLISH COURT (P.A.) DUNEDIN, July 14. A recent decision of Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., that ah English judgment compelling traffic coming from a side road to give way to main road traffic superseded the New Zealand right-hand rule was discussed by the Automobile Association (Otago) last evening. Mr W, J. Mclnnes, a member of the executive, said there were two conflicting sets of law and it was the duty of the association to point out to motorists that the right-hand rule was not absolute.

There was danger to children and motorists if information was dispensed by the Transport Department that one rule had to be obeyed and the judgment in a Court case was different altogether, said Mr D. Forsyth. It was decided to raise the matter at thfe annual conference of the South Island Motor Union.
