NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION
MAJOR MASEFIELD AGAIN CHAIRMAN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 14. A full meeting of the Dominion executive of the National Rifle Association reelected Major W. N. Masefield, of Marlborough, chairman. The chairman expressed the thanks of the executive for the help given to the association by the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones), the Army Department, and Colonel Brooke, the recently-appointed Director of Rifle Clubs. Grading ranges for the national meeting are now changed to 300 and 600 yards, a total score of 89 out of 100 for 10 shots at these two ranges qualifying as A grade, 85 to 88 as B grade, and 84 or lower C grade. The programme for 1949 will be based on 350 entries, but the prize list will be stepped up should entries exceed this number.
