N.Z. SHIELD CHALLENGES (P.A.) WELLINGTON. July■ 14. A challenge for the New Zealand Shield has* been entered by the Auckland Hockey Association tor July 31. but the Wellington Association, the new holder, decided last evening to advise the New Zealand Association that it could not accept the fixture as its team would be travelling that day to the Dunedin tournament. Advice was received from the New Zealand Association that further Challenges for the shield would have to be met from Otago, Poverty Bay. South Canterbury. and Manawatu in that order. Weilington decided to submit August 21. August 28. and September 4 as dates on which it would be willing to play shield games.
