STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT OF GROWERS’ FEDERATION "The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, July 2. “The New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation has for the last two years or more made every possible effort towards the setting up of an apple and pear marketing authority with full statutory powers.’’ said the president of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, Ltd. (Mr A. B. Congdon) commenting on Mr Cullen’s announcement. “I am pleased that the pro - posals now submitted by the Minister come in time for consideration by growers at our provincial conferences being held throughout New Zealand during the present month and finally by our Dominion conference which is to be held in Wellington during August. “At this stage I have no comment to offer dther than that the matter will receive full and careful consideration by the whole industry. The industry’s views will be conveyed to the Government at the time of our Dominion conference in August.”
