RELAY EVENTS In the senior inter-college relay swimming event held at the Boys' High School baths yesterday, the Christ’s College team returned the record time of 70 4-ssec. Results were as follows: Senior selay.—Christ’s College 1, Boys’ High School 2, St. Andrew’s College 3. Time, 70 4-ssec—a record. Intermediate Relay.—Christ’s College 1, Christchurch West 2, Boys’ High School 3. Time, 79 l-ssec. Junior Relay.—St. Andrew’s College 1, Boys’ High School 2, Christ’s College 3. Time. 84 3-ssec, JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE RECORDS BROKEN (P.A.) DUNEDIN, March 21. Two New Zealand swimming records were broken at the Otago intermediate and junior swimming championships on Saturday night. J. R. Jarvis, New Zealand junior boys’ champion, reduced by two seconds his own New Zealand record of 80 2-ssec for the 100 yards junior boys’ backstroke in winning the provincial title.

Clipping 5 3-ssec off the New Zealand record, Miss J. Stewart won the 220 yards intermediate girls’ backstroke in 3min 6sec, which is only a few seconds outside the senior record.

In conjunction with the championships, the Otago-Canterbury interprovincial contest was held, Otago winning the McKenzie Cup by two events to one, Otago won the water polo by 9 goals to 1. The women’s 300 yards medley relay was won by Otago in 3min 55sec. Canterbury won the 500 yards flying squadron relay, and honours in the diving were equally divided. Canterbury taking the men’s and Otago the women’s events.
