the national executive of the Zealand Federation of Labour did L. issue a statement after yesterday's discussions, it was learned to-day that me carpenters’ dispute had been left in abeyance until the New Zealand Carpenters’ and Joiners’ Union has the opportunity to reconsider the Government’s settlement conditions. After the union has given its opinion negotiations between the Government and the federation will be resumed. Tn connexion with the power dispute. it was advised to-day that no Analitv had been reached regarding a reported offer by the Government to appoint a tribunal to determine the trouble, and that further discussions w iU probably be necessary after the proposal has been referred to the feneakino branch.
