PLANS FOR N.Z. TOUR OF AUSTRALIA
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, M.rch 18. A tour restricted to four Saturdays and eight matches will be made of New South Wales and Queensland by a New Zealand Rugby League team in May and June. A party cf 25, including r manager, will fly to Sydney and open the tour with a match against New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground on May 22. Mr W. O. Cariaw, secretary of the New Zealand Council, said all of the Kiwis who recently returned from a tour of England and France would be available for selection. Further discussions with Australia would be held on the possibility of an Australian team’s touring New Zealand next year. - Four mid-week matches during the tour have yet to be arranged by the New South Wales and Queensland Leagues, Mr Carlaw said. The itinerary for flrst-claw matches was as follows:—. May 22: v. New South Wales, at Sydney. May 29: v. Australia (first teat), at
Sydney. June 0: v. Queensland, at Brisbane, June 12: v. Australia (second test), at Brisbane. The team will return to Auckland by air after the second test.
