Giving evidence before the Royal Commission on the Sheep Industry at Tekapo on Friday, Mr C. S. Parker, on behalf of the Mackenzie High Country Committee of Federated Farmers, supported the setting up of an independent tribunal to act as an appeal authority to determine fair rents and valuations of improvements, and because of the wide powers of catchment boards and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Counril he suggested that the tribunal should be granted powers to arbitrate between runhold' ers and the Soil Conservation ana Rivers Control Council.
