BRIGHT METEOR
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 15. The bright meteor reported in Christchurch on Saturday evening was also observed from the yacht Hope in Tory Channel, although the view was not as good because of cloud. Observers on the Hope said the whole of the seascape was lit with orange. The Director of the Carter Observatory (Mr I. L. Thomsen) said .the display was obscured by cloud, the meteor being seen only when it emerged, lighting the scene as by a flash of lightning. Any further reports would be welcomed by the observatory.
