COVERED SHEEP At FLOCK RAM FAIRS

Sir, —There has been a great deal of talk among farmers on the above subject. I was one of the unfortunate farmers who bought five high-priced rams last year, which had been covered and pampered up. At the time I was not aware of this, but just an ordinary farmer, but when I got them home they went all to pieces; in fact, I took them to an ordinary sale this year and got only 10s each for them. Hoping this will serve as a warning to any other farmer who buys sheep just because they have had a cover on them. I think the Good Lord would have provided covers with the sheep when He created them if He had thought it necessary.—Yours, etc.,

ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY. March 10, 1948.
