GUERRILLAS ATTACK GREEK TOWN
* LOOT AND HOSTAGES - TAKEN (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 24. “Four hundred guerrillas, with heavy arms, made a midnight attack on Aigion, on the Gulf of Corinth, from all directions.’’ says the correspondent of the Associated Press in Athens. “They overcame a small force of soldiers. gendarmes and armed civilians, and began wrecking and looting the town.
“The defenders, after several hours, forced the attackers to withdraw. They took loot and hostages with them. Aircraft and warships later began pounding the fleeing band, while soldiers and gendarmes cleared . the town of remnants hiding in houses.”
