ANNOUNCEMENT BY MR HACKETT From Our Own Reporter WELLINGTON, February 25. The Acting-Minister ol Railway! (Mr F. Hackett) has issued a statement expressing the Government’s sympathy with relatives of those killed or injured. He added that the accident would be the subject of a public inquiry as provided for in the Government Railways Act. The personnel of the inquiry board would be announced as soon as practicable. Mr Hackett reached the scene of the wreck at 10.15 p.m. The Minister of Railways (Mr R. Semple) is in Australia.
