FINAL GALLOPS AT WINGATUI

The course proper at Wingatui has never presented a scene of greater activity than it did this morning, when horses engaged at the centennial meeting, including several cup candidates, were given their final gallops. The going was cutting out slightly.
Howe and Royal Tan were paired over a mile, running the first two furlongs in 29sec, the last six in Imin 20 l-ssec, and the last three in 41 l-ssec. Howe was the more impressive of the two. but both horses are fit.
Heroic Girl was going better than Desert Girl and Grand Pal over six furlongs in Imin 18sec, the last half in 53sec.
Sanskrit was shading Relampago over four furlongs in 51 4-ssec. and Bay Gundi and Flibbertigibbet covered the same ground in 53 3-ssec.
Bobby Dazzler and To-Hoo took Imin 25?ec for six furlongs. Loyal Lady was doing better than Lovemorn over six furlongs in Imin 19 l-ssec, the first three in 38 2-ssec.
Responsive was given a strong mile, coming home over the last six in Imin 24 3-ssec.
Air Ace was more impressive than Duvaals over five furlongs in Imin 6 4-ssec.
Dileas and Detain ran six furlongs in Imin 21sec, and Magnaform and Dark Arrow the same distance in Imin 19 3-5 sec. Magnaform is in capital condition.
The Cup candidate, Indian Dawn, was under a good hold w’hen running six furlongs in Imin 19sec. with Beechw’ood and Helio. The last half took 54sec. Irish King easily held Elton Lad over five furlongs in Imin 9sec. Royal Lark and Bonnie Lancer ran four furlongs in 52sec. The twn-year-olds, Hatrack, Assault, and Kosher finished in that order over four furlongs in 52sec Voltaire was outjumping Court Dress over four hurdles. Gamble was tiring at the end of a similar task. Foxchase and Robert were also schooled. and both shaped well. Related to Bruce Royal Lark, the winner of the first division of the Gordon Handicap at Gore --st Saturday is now ineligible to run in the Haere Mai Handicao at Wingatui on Thursday, but her connexions took precautions against her winning, as she also accented in the John Wickliffe Handicap. Billy Mac is also an acceptor In both races. Royal Lark is closely related to Bruce and Royal Tan. being by Royal Chief from Gay Lark, a half-sister by to Otetanui. the dam of Bruce and Royal Tan.
