DR. BEEBY’S NEW APPOINTMENT
CRITICISM BY EDUCATION BOARD
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, February 18. The appointment of the Director of Education (Dr. C. E. Beeby) as As-sistant-Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural organisation, and his continued absence from New Zealand, were criticised at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board to-day, when a motion was carried protesting against Dr. Beeby’s absence “at a time when his education scheme was creating such discontent.”
