TREMELLO WINS CUP (P.A.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Jan. 11. The Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting opened at Woodville yesterday in fine weather, but heavy rain fell following the third race, and again after the fourth. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £52,099, compared with £23,510 on the opening day last year, when the meeting clashed with the Auckland and Wellington meetings. The course w’as in excellent order, but the going at times was greasy after the rain. Results:—
