AWARD FOR MISS NOLA LUXFORD Founder of the famous Anzac Club in New York, which entertained 35.000 New Zealanders and Australians during the war years. Miss Nola Luxford has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by President Truman. The award was made for excellence in the promotion of goodwill and standing among nations. Miss Luxford, who visited New Zealand as a guest of the Government in November. 1946, was made an honorary officer of the 0.8. E. in Aoril, 1947. for her outstanding work in the Anzac Club and the Anzac Relief Club. She also holds the United^States Navy’s Certificate of Achievement and the U.S. Army’s Civilian Service Award for her welfare work. She is at present engaged in lecturing over the radio and in journalistic work in New 'York.
