LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD
MR C. W. TYLER ELECTED CHAIRMAN Mr C. W. Tyler (Rangiora) was elected chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board at its annual meeting in . Christchurch yesterday. There were two nominations for the post—those of Mr Tyler and the retiring chairman (Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon)., After a ballot, Mr Tyler was declared elected by 10 votes to four. Mr F. W. Freeman was elected deputy-chainman unopposed. Committees and representatives on other bodies were elected as follows: Finance and standing committee: all members of the board. Harbour improvements committee: Messrs Tyler, Freeman, Mac Gibbon, R. E. Cairns, R. T. McMillan, F. E. Sutton and H. Holderness. Staff committee: Messrs Tyler, Freeman, Mac Gibbon, Holderness, Cairns. Sutton and McMillan. Accounts committee: Messrs Freeman, T. M. Charters, Mac Gibbon and G. Manning. Coronation Hall Committee representatives: Messrs Tyler, Freeman, Mac Gibbon, Cairns. W. F. McArthur, Sutton, Manning and Charters. Delegates to the following bodies:— Local disputes committee, Messrs Tyler, Freeman, Mac Gibbon (proxy), and the secretary (Mr A. L. Burk). Harbour Boards’ Employers’ Union, Messrs Tyler, Freeman and Mac Gibbon. Harbours Association of New Zealand. Messrs Tyler, Freeman, Cairns and Mac Gibbon. Canterbury Progress League, Messrs McMillan and J. Halligan. Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, Mr Mac Gibbon. South Island Travel Association, Mr Tyler. South Island Local Bodies’ Association, Mr Tyler.
