NEW POLICE STATION FOR GREYMOUTH

The site for the new police building in Greymouth will be at the corner of Guinness and Tarapuhi streets, where on a vacant section owned by the Mines Department, a £35,000 building will be erected as soon as possible. This advice was received by the secretary of the Westland District Progress League in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser), who later confirmed the information by telegram. According to Mr Fraser, it is the Government’s intention to see that the plans are hastened and tenders called for the erection of the premises with as little delay as possible.
