RAID ON RUSSIAN CAMP

MR BIDAULT REJECTS PROTEST

(Rec. 9 p.m.) PARIS, November 18. The French Foreign Minister (Mr Bidault) has rejected a Soviet protest against the French raid on the Russian repatriation camp at Beauregard. Mr Bidault denied that the raid violated the Russian-French repatriation agreement and said that the presence of unregistered children in the camp indicated that there was an intention to send them to Russia without both parents’ consent. He announced that no French citizens would be permitted to leave France to settle in Russia until French citizens now in Russia were permitted to return to France. He notified the Soviet Ambassador (Mr Bogomolov) that the Beauregard camp could be closed on December 1.
