Standards for Cookers A draft standard specification for cookers (other than ranges and rangetteg) is being circulated by the New Zealand Standards Institute among all affected parties for review and comment For some time the need for adequate standards in respect to electrical appliances has been emphasised by power authorities and consumer interests. The draft specification lays down minimum requirements covering factors of safety and efficiency in operation in respect of body and finish, elements, connexions, and loadings; together with life of cooker elements; insulation resistance, mechanical strength, and cord anchorage efficiency.
