BREAD DELIVERY The proposed resumption of the delivery of bread at Lyttelton was discussed at a conference held last evening of the special -committee of the Borough Council, representatives of the Lyttelton Burgesses' Association, Lyttelton master bakers, and prospective vendors. The deputyMayor (Cr. F. H Heal) presided. No agreement was reached; but the council committee and the Burgesses’ Association undertook to supply estimates of costs to a further conference.
St. John Ambulance Brigade The annual inspection of the Lyttelton divisions of St. John Ambulance Brigade was held last evening, about 80 members being on parade. The inspection was made by the senior District Superintendent (Mr J. Dickson), who was accompanied by Mr W. Osman (corps secretary) and Mr W. C. Whitmore (corps superintendent of cadets).
After the inspection Mr Dickson presented a medal for long service to Mrs E. Boyd, of the nursing division.
