WATER FOR POWER
After heavy rains and snow in the mountains, water supply for the development of electricity in Canterbury has improved considerably since Monday of last week. The level of Lake Coleridge yesterday was 1666.45 ft. against 1665.15 ft on October 1 and 1664.1 ft on September 1. The lake is refilling after the heavy winter draw-off. , The flow in the Waitaki river yesterday was 12,170 cusecs, against 9822 cusecs on October 2 and below 5000 cusecs a month ago.
