The need for another Transport Licensing Authority in the South Island was paramount, and he intended to brmg the matter before the new Minister of Transport when he was appointed, said the No. 3 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr S. V. Raines) at Hokitika recently. Mr Raines had referred to the delay in the hearing of an application for a new licence. The delay, h- said, was caused because he was the only Transport Licensing Authority in the South Island, and he w’as not able to visit the West Coast frequently.
