STANDARD WAGE DECISION

WELLINGTON CARPENTERS DISSATISFIED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 3. Dissatisfaction with the recent standard wage pronouncement of the Court of Arbitration was expressed to-day at lunch-hour meetings of carpenters in and round Wellington. The meetings demanded stricter control of prices, and it was proposed that failing achievement of strict price control and a further increase in wage rates, the Federation of Labour should be called on to organise a one-day stoppage of work.
