OCCUPANTS ESCAPE SERIOUS INJURIES When a motor-car crashed through the side of the Red Jack’s Creek bridge at Ngahere. the three occupants received only superficial cuts ana bruises, though the car was extensively damaged. Driven by Mr J Scott of Ikamatua. the car swerved halfway across the bridge, crashed through the right-hand side, and plunged 16 feet into the water below. The three men scrambled from the partly submerged car comparatively unscathed The task of retrieving the car took breakdown men all day, and was noi completed until 10 p.m.
