ACCIDENTS

ONE WOMAN KILLED; ANOTHER INJURED DELIVERY VAN SKIDS ON TO FOOTPATH <P.A.) DUNEDIN. October 3 One woman was killed and another was injured when they were struck by a delivery van which skidded on a wet road and mounted the footpath on the north side of Pine Hill terrace yesterday. They* were:— Killed Elsie Chalmers Pimm, aged 47, a married woman with four children, of 16 Pine Hill terrace. Injured Hilda Young, aged 39. a widow, of 18 Pine Hill terrace, who suffered concussion and abrasions. The two women were standing on the pavement talking when the accident occurred. Mrs Pimm was carried along with the van. which had to be lifted with a jack before her body could be removed. Mrs Young, who was admitted to hospital, was reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
