Russian Plane Drops Bomb.—“A Russian aeroplane dropped a bomb near the Matzen railway station, in lower Austria, on September 29 killing a women and injuring her husband.” says the Vienna correspondent of the Associated Press, quoting an Austrian Government official. “The explosion also destroyed one house and damaged others. Russian sources m Vienna offer no comment.”—London. October 2.
Crime in London.— Figures issued by Scotland Yard for the first eight months of the year reveal that it is conquering the crime wave. There were 1936 fewer indictable crimes in London during the period than last year, and 706 more arrests. On an average 96 ner cent, of stolen vehicles were recovered. Public co-operation by telephoning the Yard led to more than 5000 arrests. —London. October 3.
