SHIP DESERTION Donald Morrison, a seaman, aged 24 years, pleaded guilty before Messrs W. T. Lester and W. D. Gower, Justices of the Peace, in the Magistrate’s Court at Lyttelton yesterday to deserting from the overseas ship Stafford. He was convicted and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. Patrick John Wilkins, a pantryboy, aged 17 years, pleaded guilty to having deserted from the overseas ship Kaipara at Lyttelton. He was convicted and fined £2.
