BRITISH POTATO CROP
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, September 28. The “Farmers’ Weekly” says that the potato crop in England and Wales may not be more than two-thirds the normal yield. Samples of main crop potatoes dug during the last few days indicate that the crops are severely affected by the drought, and that on many farms the yield will not be better than five tons to the acre.*
