REFERENCE AT MEETING OF • COUNCIL

Brief reference to the appointment of a full-time academic head of Canterbury University College was made at the college council meeting yesterday afternoon. It was agreed that two members of the Professorial Board and two additional members of the council should join the staff sub-committee to consider applications when they are received. Applications for this post are being received in London; but on the recommendation of the college committee it was agreed that in future all applications for positions should close in Christchurch and not with the Universities Bureau in London. English applicants will, in future, be requested to send copies of their applications to the bureau for investigation,
