VERDICTS AT INQUESTS

A verdict that Frederick# Charles Christmas, aged 66, died on September, 2 from shock, following hemorrhage, was returned by the Coroner, Mr Raymond Ferner, when the inquest was concluded yesterday. Poison Taken At the inquest into the death of Arthur Hamlin, aged 74, the Coroner returned a verdict that Hamlin died on September 4, the cause of death being suicide by poisoning. Hearing Adjourned Evidence was given by Dr. A. B. Pearson, pathologist at the Christchurch Public Hospital, that, in his opinion, Francis Isaac Milligan, aged 69, died from shock due to a fracture of the skull and laceration of . the brain. The Coroner then adjourned the inquest to Amberley. Milligan died at Waipara on September 4, and it was stated that he was using a log-splitting gun.
