REEFTON J.C.

DARK ARROW’S DOUBLE “The Press” Special Service GREYMOUTH. September 28. The Reefton Jockey Club was favoured with fine, sunny weather for the first day of its spring meeting, but the attendance was not as large as usual. Features of the meeting were the dual successes of Dark Arrow, in the distance hack events, the effortless manner in which the promising Canterbury pacer, Goldina, won at both his first two starts, and the dual success of the Greymouth owner, Mr J. 5, Trowbridge, and the Omoto trainer, C. J. Walsh, whose candidates. Chellow Dene and John o’ London, captured both open galloping events on the programme. The former paid a win dividend well into the dduble figure mark in a small field of six runners. The totalisator handled £9599 10s, compared with £10.982 10s on the first day of the meeting, which was held last year on December 28, a decrease of £1351 10s.
