BIRTHDAY OF MR T. W. REESE
CRICKET CONTEMPORARIES GATHER To r.-srk the eightieth birthday of Mr T. W. Reese, more than 40 of his contemporaries in cricket in Canterbury gathered at the home of his brother, Mr D. Reese, on Saturday afternoon. Seven of the guests were more than 80 years old—Messrs W. H. Day. C. Taylor, C. Prebble, J. N. du Feu, A. Gapes, F. Leach, and E. R. Webb.'
Mr E. R. Caygill, president of the Canterbury Cricket Association, presented a fountain pen to Mr Reese from the association. He referred to the distinguished record of the guest of honour as a Canterbury representative cricketer, a member and past president of the Canterbury Cricket Association, and as a historian of the game in New Zealand. A toast to Mr Reese, proposed by Mr Caygill, was seconded by v Mr Arthur Sims. Reference was also made to Mr Reese’s service as a Rugby football player end administrator.
