NATIONAL DAFFODIL SOCIETY
OFFICERS ' ELECTED. AT ANNUAL MEETING
The National Daffodil Society of New Zealand’s next show for the North Island will be held at Hamilton, and for the South Island at Dunedin. These decisions were made at the annual meeting of the society held in Christchurch yesterday. Officers were elected as follows: patron, the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Freyberg); president, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; honorary solicitor, Mr H. M. Hammond; executive. Mrs M. Moorby, Messrs T. S. Waugh (representing the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture), -H. J. Poole, W. Balch, H-. M. Hammond, and J. S. Stalker; treasurer, Mr A. W. Freeman; secretary, Mr G. W. Cairns; committee, Drs. Ai C. McKillop and C. W. Parr. Messrs O. W. B. Anderson, J. H. Braithwaite, G. M. Broughton, G. H. Brownlee, D. H. L. Corrigan, W. Danby, J. M. Dick, J. T. Gray, A. Gibson. C. Goodson, H. M. Hammond, A. S. Clouston. G. Lewis, C. W. Pierson, G. A. Shaw, C. de Berry, S. Gasper, K. Burns, A. Lynn, and J. C. Glover, and Professor Perrin.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY’S MEDAL AWARDED
For his display of schlzanthus at the National Daffodil Society of New Zealand’s exhibition at the Caledonian Hall this week, G. Franklin was yesterday awarded the Royal Horticultural Society’s bronze medal.
