CHURCHILL MEMORIAL
SCHEME BEFORE R.S.A. The opinion of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association about a scheme to commemorate the services of Mr Winston Churchill during the war, was sought by the Dominion executive in a circular letter received by the executive at its meeting last evening. The circular quoted a resolution which suggested that every person in New Zealand contribute Is to a commemoration fund which could be used to establish Something like a Rhodes Scholarship. The letter asked if the association would be prepared to support and conduct such an appeal in its district, and advise it public support was likely to be forthcoming. On the suggestion of the president (Mr E. Orchard), it was agreed to refer the matter to the organisation committee for a report.
