BRITISH PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENT

WIN FOR NORMAN VON NIDA

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 25. Equalling the British tournament record of 271 for 72 holes, Norman von Nida to-day won the North British Rubber Company’s £2OOO professional golf tournament at the Starbeck course. Abe Mitchell established the record at Bristol in 1932.

Yesterday’s joint leaders, Charlie Ward and von Nida, were paired together today. and they had a grand fight over the final 18 holes At the end of the third round, von Nida led Ward by two strokes, and in the final round they each did 68 Scores were: von Nida 271. Ward 273, Horne 279, Sharkland 284, R. A. Whitcombe 284. Burton, the joint leader at the end of the second round, withdrew after playing eight holes of the final round. CHRISTCHURCH CLUB C. W.
