Only those countries that wished to do so were staying away from the Paris economic conference called by France and Britain, said the French Foreign Minister (Mr Bidault), addressing the French National Assembly. The doors were still open. France remained faithful to the principle of inter-Allled control of the Ruhr and had not abandoned any of her rights to reparations. Gelman coal must serve French ore. He added that the German problem should be settled by the Big Four Foreign Ministers’ conference.
