FIGURES SLIGHTLY ABOVE MINIMUM

Power savings in the area of Christchurch supplied by the Municipal Electricity Department are still slightly above the required minimum of 10 per cent. For the 24 hours up to midnight on Tuesday the saving for the original M.E.D. area was 12.8 per cent., and for the extended area the figure was 11.3 per cent. The level of Lake Coleridge rose to 1664.55 ft yesterday, the figure on Tuesday being 1664.5 ft. There was a flow of 5400 cusecs in the Waitaki river compared with 5300 cusecs on Tuesday.
