PENSIONERS’ CLUB ROOM
. Sir, —May I advise the general public that at last our dreams have come true. We have found a rest and club room, a stone’s throw from Cathedral square, and on the ground floor. Full details as to official opening, etc., will be advertised shortly. There will be facilities for reading, writing, resting and games. Morning and afternoon teas from 3d to 6d will be provided. The daily newspapers will be there to read. The room is for all pensioners. whether they belong to our association or not. and their friends (town and country). I shall be very grateful for gifts of cards, draughts, or cash donations, no matter how small (or large). His Worship of Mayor and Mr J. L. Hay are our trustees. Every donation will be acknowledged. Please assist me in making the old folks’ lives happier.—Yours, etc., (Mrs) E. E. DORN. Honorary Secretary. N.Z. Pensioners' Association (Inc.). Christchurch Branch. July 22. 1947.
