FRENCH ECONOMIC POLICY
Mr Ramadier Seeks Approval SPEECH CAUSES AN UPROAR (Rec. 12.15 a.m.) PARIS, July 3. "The present French economic crisis is endangering internal stability and relations with the French union overseas,” said the French Prime Minister (Mr Ramadier), moving a vote of confidence in his Government’s economic policy. Mr Ramadier, before tabling the motion, caused an uproar when he referred to armed plots. Turning to the Right-Wing benches, he said: “We must be frank. There are outside the Chamber men whose actions tend to join yours. Read the papers and you will see who these men are who madly organise armed plots.” Right-Wing members shouted: “Take back your words!” Mr Ramadier replied that he did not imply that any member had plotted against the Government, but the activity of certain groups showed that they were exploiting the difficult circumstances.
