RUHR COALMINES
TRANSFER TO GERMAN CONTROL
BRITAIN AND U.S. AGREE ON PLAN (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright)
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, July 2. The deadlock in the British and American discussion of the plan for handing over the Ruhr coalmines to German control has been broken, and August 1 has been fixed as the tentative date for the transfer. The change-over is to be effected under the plan drawn Up by Dr. Viktor Agartz, who recently resigned as head of the German economic administration in the British zone, and provides for a coal board similar to that established in Britain.
