AIR SERVICE ROUND THE WORLD.—-A Lockheed Constellation airliner (similar to the plane shown above) has completed the inaugural round-the-world service flight of Pan American Airways. The total distance, 21,426 miles, was covered in slightly more than 100 flying hours. Starting from New York, stops were made at Gander, in Newfoundland, Shannon, in Eire, London, Istanbul, Karachi, Calcutta, Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai, Tokyo, Guam, Wake, Honolulu, and San Francisco.
