TRAFFIC ON WHARVES AT LYTTELTON
HARBOUR BOARD DISCUSSIOxN A suggestion that the by-laws should be amended to prevent vehicular traffic on the Lyttelton wharves after sunset was made by Mr R. E. Cairns yesterday, when the Lyttelton Harbour Board discussed the accident at the port recently when a taxi-driver and a seaman were drowned after a taxi had fallen into the harbour. The chairman (Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon) said that before the next meeting the board would probably receive advice about the remodelling of by-laws. It would be possible to get legal control over traffic on the wharves which the board did not have at present
