GERMAN SHIP FOR NEW ZEALAND

KAMO TO SAIL THIS WEEK (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 10. The former German motor-ship Gaarden (1500 tons), which was allocated to the New Zealand Government as reparations and was recently purchased by the Union Steam Ship Company, will sail from Southampton this week on her maiden voyage to New Zealand, where she will probably enter the coastal trade. The Vessel. renamed the Kamo, is carrying a general cargo from Britain and will load bitumen at Suez. The vessel has been refitted in British shipyards and is commanded by Captain L. W. Chennell.
