MR SEMPLE’S ATTACK (From Our Industrial Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, June 10. Fierce denunciation ol officials of the Waterside Workers’ Union was heard from the Minister of Works (Mr R. Semple) at the annual conference of the Labour Party last evening. Apparently incensed at the recent resolution from watersiders proposing no-confidence in himself as Minister, and at the general policy of watersiders, Mr Semple spoke of “Mr Barnes and his ratbags,” and is reported to have declared that if Mr H. E. Holland, founder of the party, had been alive to-day he would never have tolerated such things as were going on in the industrial front. Neither Mr H. Barnes, president of the’union, nor Mr T. Hill, the secretary, was present when the Minister spoke. _____
